Rainy sunday at Wonder la and Ramnagara!!!
Normal lazy Sunday with breakfast at krishna Cafe was not my cup of tea . Swapnil proposes and Sachin Disposes !!
Few Enthu people like Roku, Chandu, Roger had different plans to make me drive crazy by having Food at kamat 40-45 kms far away from Banaglore :-)
Got Sachin Bike from Wonder la parking lot, had variety of food at kamat like jowar roti palak, puri baji and ganne ka juice :-)

Saw clouds hovering over bangalore and thought jo Garajate hai woh Baraste nahi :-)
But nature was in differenet mood and so had my first Experience to drive bike in such a wild, windy rain on a highway totally drenched and crazy .

Namma Mysore adventure sports! With help of orkut -Adventure India and my friend Sachin finally one of my dreams of adventure sports came true.
To travel a long distance of 140kms Bangalore Mysore Expressway on a bike, doing all adventure sports and searching a hotel in Mysore during dasera were causing hiccups but we kicked off recalling the quote from adventure group-
"Life's journey is not to arrive at grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ... gosh...what a ride!"
We started early morning 6.30 am on 30th September ’06, hitting road in full speed wearing attire of bike racing :-) To reach Bangalore Mysore expressway it took us around 1 hr and wondering if we can make it in 4 hrs or not; as our first adventure water sports was scheduled at 12.
Reached Ramnagara (I don’t know why these people use ‘A’ after every word!!). Had idly vada, my staple diet since two years and hot coffee cappi :-) . The Idili was really special, wrapped in some leaf and steaming hot. Then after having Idli power we drove in full 90-100 kmph speed on the Bangalore Mysore Express way. It was awesome to drive so fast and breathe taking during sharp turns.
The Bengaluru- KengeriA- RamnagarA-MandyaA-MudduraA- SrirangpatnamA was conquered and reached very early around 10.30am to our destination Srirangapatnam.
We then tried all food items from iyengar’s bakery :-)
The Visvesvaraya Canal for Kayaking was in interior almost 12 kms from Srirangapatnam. Initially thought that force of water is not great and it would be normal aboat ride experience. Bharath, who is in adventure water sports for 8 years gave some training about the forward and backward movements, the kayaking boat details and how to hold paddle and synchronous movements for left or right directions and all. There was other group of 6 too; so finally we started on a 5km long stretch of kayaking in the direction of flow of water. It was great fun to hit the edge of bank or the thorns or going through small way under short bridge all fascinating.
Then we tasted fresh jaggery and took snaps of how it is made from sugarcane.
Next destination was Mysore University ground for Bungee jumping. Around 5 pm reached Ground ,after a bit of struggle with directions and roads. Aleem was the contact person who helped in BP and weight check up, filled forms, were looking amused and a bit scared of the mammoth crane which was so tall that not fitting in our camera lens.
I got ready and they tied my both legs together below knee till ankle. The rope which was my life saver was tied on that. The crane came down and got in and slowly was moving up. It was 140 ft above ground, Can see whole of Mysore which was too good like a panoramic view. The guy who was there with me on top told me that he will remove one of the supporting ropes and then I need to go to edge of crane lift then take deep breathe and stretch my hands. Then jump flat straight and I was just frozen there with my hands stretch and looking down. No idea what I was thinking but somehow after long 10 15 sec I just closed my eyes and took off. The gravity pulling me down till the rope end was reached and it snaps back and I oscillated up and down couple of times and after getting stable was brought down . The thrilling experience of 30- 40 sec hanging in air with only one rope as if hanging between life and death was mind blowing.
Then sachin also had same breath taking moments which I shooted in dig cam and we went in search of lodge which we found luckily at city center through one of the bungee jumping organizer.
Checked in hotel Satkar and went to udpi hotel for some snacks and then had a round of Mysore city and watched the dasera celebration at the Mysore palace. The lighting and huge crowd was just fun to watch shows how big this festival is in south.
Then we went to Ramanshree hotel for wine and dine. There live music was going on singer was singing jagjit singh. Jagjit singh songs and daru awesome combination to cool down after a long hectic day.
Had a sound sleep and our return journey to Bangalore began next day with all thoughts rushing through mind; we were taking breaks to have famous muddur vada, some landscape and expressway snaps.
Mysore Dasara is a Royal Festival Celebrating victory of Truth over Evil
Felt as if we too conquered death after these two adventure sport
